EVENT DESCRIPTION

The Niklas Group Tour de Bowness is a three race omnium event:

Saturday July 31st - Road Race at the Lions Club in Bearspaw
Sunday August 1st - Hill Climb at Canada Olympic Park
Monday August 2nd - Criterium Race in Bowness

 

CATEGORIES

Riders will compete in one of the following categories, as indicated on their ABA license:

  • Youth (U17 and U15)
  • Women A and B (Race together but scored individually)
  • Cat 1 and 2
  • Cat 3
  • Cat 4
  • Cat 5

ENTRY / REGISTRATION

Online registration will be available at Karelo (www.karelo.com). No Race Day Registration will be accepted.

The price for registration is $80.00, Youth pricing is $50.00. Riders may enter any combination of the three events .

* All riders must have a valid UCI road license. *

REGISTRATION/SIGN ON

All riders must sign on for each event. Please present your license at time of sign on.

  • Road Race Sign On (Saturday July 31): Begins at 8:00am and ends 30 minutes prior to your respective race at Bearspaw Lions's Club.  You will present your ABA/UCI license and sign the start list at this time.
  • Hill Climb Sign On (Sunday, August 1) Please present your ABA/UCI license to the ABA Technical Delegate 30 minutes prior to your start time.  You can do this beginning at 3:30, in the Festival Tent at COP. 

* Present yourself/bike at the start at least 10-15 minutes prior to your race for bike weighing. Check your times carefully!!

  • Criterium (Monday ,August 2)  Please sign the start list at least 30 minutes before your race starts.

PRIZES:  To qualify, participants must start all races.

  • The following cash prizes will be awarded for the Omnium. Prize values may change depending on the number of entrants. Medals will be awarded to Youth Men/Women in Criterium and Race races. Youth cash prizing will be based upon number of entries.

AWARDS AND RACER FOOD

Podium presentations for the top 5 riders in each category will be made following each stage of the race. The Omnium podium presentations will be made after the Criterium presentations on Monday August 2nd.

Join Salt & Pepper Restaurant and Bow Cycle for a mexican meal following the Criterium at Bow Cycle on Monday August 2nd. Racers will be given a ticket to redeem for their meal at sign on.

Come and listen to "The Bownesians" immediately following the Criterium before the Awards Presentation on Monday August 2nd.
