DIRECTIONS TO RACE VENUE

  • Canada Olympic Park is located at 88 Canada Olympic Rd. NW. This is located on the Trans Canada Highway (16th Avenue) at Bowfort Road NW.
  • Park in the Sports Center/ Warehouse parking lot located at the west side of Canada Olympic Park. There are washrooms located across the road near the Festival Tent.
  • Sign in will occur inside the Festival Tent across from the parking lot starting at 3:30pm.

HILL CLIMB EVENT SCHEDULE

  • All Racers must be Pre-Registered for the Hill Climb and must sign on at the COP Hill Climb. Sign on will begin at 3:30pm at the Festival Tent at Canada Olympic Park. Please have your license ready. Racers who do not 'sign on' will not be accounted for, and may be listed as DNS in the Race Results. There will NOT BE A STARTING line Roll Call. Sign On sheets are the only way to ensure you are entered.
  • Bike Check: Riders are reminded that UCI rule 1.3.019 will apply ("the minimum weight of the bike, without accessories that can be removed during the event shall be 6.8 kg / 14.96 lbs) and bikes will be weighd prior to competing. The official scale will be accessible to riders during sign on (3:00 - 5:30) so adjustments can be made accordingly. If you leave the area between your bike check and start time, your bike will be re-weighed.
  • NOTE: All riders MUST descend down the bobsled bike path during warm up and during the race. Riders must stay in the right hand lane on the way up. East lane will see traffic in both directions.

  • 3:30pm: Sign On for Hill Climb (Festival Tent).
  • 5:00pm: Warm Up. Descend via Bobsled Path. Use Caution.
  • 5:45pm: Hill Climb clear.
  • 6:00pm Youth Categories
  • 6:20pm: Category 5
  • 6:40pm: Category 4
  • 7:00pm: Category 3
  • 7:20pm: Women A & B
  • 7:40pm: Category 1/2
  • *NOTE: All times approximate.

  • Results and awards to follow as soon as possible after the event.

RACE DISTANCE / COURSE DESCRIPTION

  • The COP Hill Climb course starts with a consistent slope that gradually steepens past turn 6 and 7 to finish 1.25km from the start line.
  • Riders will go "Three Up" with other riders in their category. Riders will be sent off in 2 minute intervals.
  • Total Distance = 1.25km, Total Elevation = 400ft?
  • Riders must report to the start area at least 10 minutes prior to their start for bike check.. Please be on time for your start.
  • When you have climbed to the top of the hill, you must descend via the pathway next to the Bobsled. Use Caution on this descent.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • There will be certified FIRST AID responders at Canada Olympic Park. Start/ Finish or any of the turns have radio communication with First Aid.
  • All UCI, CCA, and ABA Regulations will apply. This means Helmets must be worn, etc. Any behavior seen as unfit in the eyes of the Organizers will also be punishable by immediate Disqualification, no excuses. Use common sense.
  • Washrooms are available near the entrance to the Festival Tent.
  • Race Numbers are to be placed on right shoulder and left hip. Frame plates also required.
  • Center line rule is in effect and all Racers are warned accordingly.
